Quality Control

Huddersfield Pharmacy Specials has a modern, first-class quality control laboratory and is fully versed in all aspects of pharmacopoeia testing; carrying out raw material, in process and finished product analysis. Quality is guaranteed through a comprehensive range of qualified analytical equipment, validated test methods and standard operating procedures developed in accordance with cGMP guidelines. The laboratory operates to Good Control Laboratory Practice and techniques available include HPLC, GC, UV-vis, FTIR, Karl Fisher, Auto titrator, Filter Integrity testing, sub-visual particle determination. HPS also carries out Sterility Testing and has a small microbiology capability to support sterility validation.

HPS QC also provide an accredited Medical Gas Pipeline Systems (MGPS) testing service.

Quality Assurance

Huddersfield Pharmacy Specials operate an independent Quality Assurance Unit that oversees all activities and processes. HPS has a comprehensive Quality Management System and this is managed and maintained by the Quality Assurance unit. Everything produced by HPS is manufactured to Good Manufacturing Practice and the facility is regularly inspected by the MHRA.

HPS hold a Specials manufacturing licence (MS), a clinical trials supply licence (MIA(IMP)) and a wholesaler dealer authorisation . HPS also has a Home Office Licence for the supply of Controlled Drugs.
