HPS staff well and truly got their bake on to help Becky Swain’s (Development Analyst) fund raiser to build two classrooms in Ethiopia, in conjunction with AidCamps International, in memory of her mother Janet Swain.

“Our aim is to raise £18,000 to build two classrooms in Ethiopia in loving memory of my Mum, Janet Swain, who passed away last December. She was a teaching assistant and loved her job so we thought this would be a very fitting tribute.

Through AidCamps International, a group of 11 of us will travel to Africa to help build the classrooms and meet the families who will benefit. These children have very few opportunities, and education is key to their future, and that of their families. The classrooms will provide the learning opportunity for many children over many years to come – all in my Mum’s name. Various fundraising activities have taken place at HPS for this project, from Charity Bake Sales to World Cup Sweepstakes to Half Marathon Sponsorships.

Together with people’s very generous and kind donations, HPS have raised £1252!! We have also had donations from some of our clients, amounting to £750!! Achieving a grand total of £2002, more than I could ever have hoped for. Any further donations are obviously welcome so we can make this memorial for a wonderful lady, a reality. Thank you all very much, Becky
